The first week back at Uni can only entail one thing, celebrating our loan coming through by spending (too much) money on cocktails and where better to do this than a cocktail festival?
On Friday, myself and a few course mates thought we’d start the semester off right by attending at Leeds Town Hall. The general gist of the two day event being that twenty of the city’s finest cocktail bars all come together under one roof and bringing their finest drinks to win the “Best Cocktail” award.
Not only this but there was also plenty of games (given to us by Roxy ball rooms of course), live music and street food and underground Victoria prison cell experiences…not as scary as it sounds I swear!
We bought the £12 ticket which gained us entry and one free cocktail and from there cocktails were £6 each (bargain) and were purchased via tokens. I bought three cocktails whilst there, for purely research purposes, from The Alchemist, Botanist (winners of the award) and my personal favourite, Smokestack.
As expected, none of the cocktails failed to disappoint and it was the perfect way to discover new places to go for drinks in Leeds, I just wish my student budget stretched a little bit further!
